There was nothing on Shenmue until 2015 when the Kickstarter for Shenmue 3 was announced. How about the time you claimed you had a friend that said there wasn't going to be an announcement of Shenmue 3 at E3 2014 because it was going to get a complete Shenmue reboot? Did it happen? nope. "and was also a long time ago".9 months ago isn't a long time ago. Do try to lighten up its just an internet forum, jeeez. In any case, I'll enjoy having a slice of your humble pie when the costs do come out. That was all banter and was also a long time ago. Like where? The BB forum many years ago? Ah yes, that's right, I use to do those prank threads on launch night and laugh at how silly you'd all respond. Every single time he has claimed to know something before anyone else, it's turned out to be a bunch of lies. Not really, he's done this so many times since he joined the forum. You even made up lies about Shenmue 3 in the past too. No, you're lying, you always lie, you have been lying for years on this site. I look forward to being proved right when the figures are public knowledge nearer/after release. Believe what you want, I couldn't care less, I'm just stating what I was told, as cold, hard facts.ĥ0million is the total budget for this game including marketing costs. Okie Doke, I work as a journo on a games publication site (for obvious reasons I won't be stating), I was told this information by a guy called Dan Emery. If he had that kind of money to spend on a single game, then Shenmue 3 would have been created years ago. I also highly doubt even Yu Suzuki is going give around 10m out of his own pocket. They are the publisher, they aren't the developers, no way are they going to hand out that amount of money for a very niche game. Deep Silver are also not just going to hand over 25m to help create this game either. Sony is not paying out 20m to create this game, the only thing Sony is handling is the marketing side of the game. Yes, but every time you claim to know anything about anything it always ends up being a pack of lies. At least it's only 3months and not 3 years lol. I'm frustrated it's been delayed but on a more positive end. That includes 25mil from deep silver, 20mil on Sony's part and then the money raised from crowdfunding (after taxes) and Yu' s own back pocket. I was told the combined budget for the game was 50mil. If there is nothing to see at E3 then I will be really disappointed. I'm not one to demand seeing some gameplay for a game, but there comes a time where proper gameplay needs to be shown, especially with a crowdfunded game, and I think now is that time. You can get a look at some more screenshots and details on the Kickstarter page.I hope the news of the delay doesn't mean there will be no show at E3. So please join us in making Shenmue 3 – let us grow our community and build a new, exciting Shenmue experience! It will not be easy, but I have dreamed of making this sequel for 14 years – it is time to bring Shenmue back! And to make it come true, it will need the love and support from each and every one of you! We are balancing our ambitions for a grand sequel with the pragmatic realities of developing a game of this scale. I know that the goal of making Shenmue 3 with the fans, and seeing Shenmue in the hands of gamers all around the world is a lofty one. If we do not reach our funding goal, Shenmue 3 will not go forward.
When does shenmue 3 come out series#
Together, with Shenmue fans everywhere, I knew we could build the game that the series deserves. Through Kickstarter, I knew that could happen. If Shenmue 3 was going to get made, I wanted to make it with the fans. They all want to know one thing: “When will Shenmue 3 be coming out?” With the advent of games using Kickstarter during these past few years, the new and now frequent demand from the fans has been, “Do a Kickstarter for Shenmue 3!”

Since the release of Shenmue 2, now 14 years ago, I have been greeted by the passionate outpouring of dedicated fans and Shenmue community members wherever I go. Here’s a message written for fans and future backers on the Kickstarter page for the game: Shenmue 3 was announced during Sony’s E3 press conference, where they revealed that Yu Suzuki is producing and directing the next game in the series, and it will be funded via Kickstarter.
